I'm definitely a John Deere guy but if your looking for a higher houred cheaper kind of tractor I would probably think real hard about a red Steiger. You can probably get a 9150 for quite a bit less than an 8760 and I think they're just a simpler more reliable design. We had an 8630 and an 8640. They used about 13 gallons of fuel an hour with a 13 shank chisel. We overhauled both of them. They are not tractors that you want to run up high hours on in my opinion. You also have to watch the spline couplers in the pivot area. They cost a fortune to replace. I think you would be much better off putting some of that repair money into the upfront cost of a newer tractor.
