Subject: RE: Chevy/GMC Colorado/Canyon Crew Cab pick ups

Northwest Texas Panhandle
I have an extended cab '04 GMC Canyon with the 5 cylinder engine and a 5 speed transmission.  I pretty well always averages 21-26 mpg.  In complete city driving the lowest it ever got was 18.5.  The back seat of the extended cab is pretty well none existent on my extended cab.  Its pretty uncomfortable unless you sit sideways but it would work for kids.  I really like the pickup.  I haven't had any problems with it except a recall on the brake lamp switch where my brake lamps were stuck on.  It's got an interesting sound to it that does takes some getting used to and mine makes a humming noise at around 64 mph where there must be a resonance.  Its got a great ride and feels like you're driving a car.  It's tall enough where its pretty easy to get in and out of for everyone.  If you've occasionally got things to haul, it's perfect.
