We have been running a JD base for nearly 12 months on solar (24hrs/day). We have a 125w panel hooked to a deep cycle battery through a solar power regulator ($70AUS) which prevents the battery from being overcharged.
The size of panel will be determined by hours of usefull sunlight to meet current requirement and charge the battery up for the night shift.
Solar power RTK base??
