Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.

I am aware of the cob deflector on the 60 series combines and have noticed that it is available as a kit for the 50 series.

I assumed this was to improve the chopping of cobs in corn and wouldn't have an effect in soybeans or in the spreading action of the pattern.

Any more information on the cob deflector would be appreciated.
