IN
We have used it for several years and have considered it to be a useful product. The term "controlled release" is misleading. There is very little N actually in coron itself. What it actually does is makes the plant more efficient at drawing the N and other nutrients from the soil. Only count on getting about 50-75# actual "extra" of nitrogen. I know of some people who have tried to get too much out of it and have been disappointed. This product was not designed to work this way. Since it makes the plant much more efficient, the plant also must be healthy to work correctly. This cannot be understated. It will not work if the leaves are rolled up in a drought. It will do more harm than good. Coron will stimulate root growth within 36-48 hours depending on enviromental conditions. By feeding corn every 15 days before tassel, it is possible to drive roots down below compaction layers and also to keep roots in moisture. Within 5-6 days, the corn get very dark green as new nutients are drawn into the plant. You will notice a copper color along the edge of the leaves where you overspray. This won't hurt the corn though. In conclusion, it is a good product if used at the correct rate for the right purpose. If not, you will be disappointed.
