SWMO
This was not typical of the ground I usually farm. Most is 1-5% slopes with some drainage ditches. With the torential rain SWMO gets at times, no-till works best on "my" farm if conditions are right for it. Last year wasnt and I got my butt handed to me on a platter due to the wet conditions. This was the deciding factor in going strip-till for me. How I handle slopes will be experimental, but can be done. Right now, plan is to raise Strip till machine on slopes/drainage areas and nudge over 15 inches to dribble fert between rows, not potentially right on top of ground where planter will run. This may play havoc with planter down pressure needs (going from strip till conditions to hard no-till conditions) , but small price to pay. We are talking about maybe 5% of a feild. Next years plans are for adding another planter because I am at 120 acres per row now, so "on the go" Pneumatic may help this situation.
