Albert Lea , MN | I couldnt believe the 175 either believe me ! Our previous best was 125, but we had never put oats on this particular piece of ground, and it had plenty of dairy manure, slurry and bedding pack. The friend of mine who combined it didnt have his yield monitor perfectly calibrated, but he said it was close. Apparently when he was done his insight had it at 198 bu/acre, so the word on the street was we had 200 bushel oats, but across the scale it was 175. These were seed oats for the Albert Lea Seed House, Kame variety, so we did pretty good on them! I think I am just going to put down about 3000 gallons of dairy manure and seed some wheat, and see what happens. | |
