It could be argued that standardizing couplers has meant that we are stuck with crappy hookups forever. There has to be a better way than the individual hose hookup we've been using forever. I expect there would be a way to get a perfectly clean connection that is easy to hookup and is reliable, has higher flow capability, doesn't pop out all the time, and can handle high pressure connections.

Again, my point is standardizing is good, but the flip side is you don't get any real improvements. I'd like to see combine heads get easier to hook up before they lock in the design. My ultimate goal would be to tow a header into a field on a cart, unlock the safeties, drive up with a combine, pick the head up and not have to get off the combine again to do anything else. Maybe once all manufacturers get to that point, with no real differences in design or function, then we can talk about standardizing.
