Subject: Header span-Machine shed

We're going to be putting up a machine shed this summer as a bigger combine seems to = bigger/taller storage. We've been working with Menards on the building package. Leaning towards going with just an open front (sidewall) for ease of getting various equipment in and out of the shed. The latest plan has poles on 9' centers with 3 clear spans to the open front or 27' . Nice opening but I worry about the span. They have three 1 3/4" LVL beams together for a 5 1/4" X 18" header. Does this seem adaquate? What do some of you guys have for sidewall openings and what size is the header. The trusses are designed for 35# snow load. This design was for a 40' wide building but even now I think we may change that to 50'.
