East Prairie, MO
Few guys here have Kinze's with the john blue piston pump that usually injects 2X2 in front of the planter with a coulter. (Like mine) But they removed their coulters and ran the tubes to the back and mounted tips on an arm like you would have a spray tip for pre-emerge on. Only this tip is one off of a coulter-knife type setup from a liquid sidedress rig that shoots a pencil stream with pressure, they aim the stream about 2 inches beside the row and let it shoot it on the ground. Works real good and reduces weight and drag by getting rid of the coulter all together. I've considered it but just haven't pulled the trigger. Still trying to decide if putting it on top of the ground is efficient enough for me at these high liquid prices. They like the setup real well from the conversations I've had with them.
