Everyone says that you can't plant corn too deep and you can't plant beans too shallow. We've found that statement to be completely false in our backyard. We tend to be wet and cold early and then dry out.

We like to plant our corn at 1.75-2" max and beans at about 1.25"...maybe even a tad deeper. We learned the hard way about 5 years ago about what one depth position too shallow can mean on an 1850 air seeder. 10+ bushel loss over way too many acres.
