Your instance seems to be very rare. The disc isn't big enough to have a 54 cell disc. The meter is only so big, if they did increse the number of cells in the disc it couldn't plant that large of a seed. As far as the markers go..............look back once and while and don't hit the tree!!! they do sell chain saws you can attach to the markers. There new planter they showed at NFMS had breakaway markers if I remember right. Just my 2 cents worth. They can't be too bad if you own 2 of them. I have one and love it!! Usually the boxes are empty when I switch plates are yours full?? good luck this spring
