Belleville, Ontario
I like the side dress. Weather is unpredictable at the best of times. The worse scenario with broadcast is Urea + high pH soil + 1/10 inch of rain or heavy dew + hot, sunny day afterwards. How many times do we get 1" rain predicted and end up with just enough to wet the tractor hood.
I guess the flexibility to do both would be good too. We all get caught behind the 8 ball at times, and doing the job quick is sometimes the biggest priority. Also consider a sprayer with UAN dribble banded with ATS & Agrotain.
Look to see if you can get some $ for your side dresser, through an environmental program. The reduced loss of N will align with reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
