Drilling holes in the teeth will certainly weaken them. I'd suggest buying 7/8" stress proof shafting, drilling holes in a 2x2x3/8" angle iron which is bolted across the front edge of the bucket and another to bolt to the back bottom of the bucket. Drill the angle iron rod holes 55/64" and beat the rods in. Weld the rods into the back iron and let the leading edge holes float. Having the rods extend to the back portion of the bucket will make it less likely the bucket will be distorted. Similar to add on rock forks. Good luck. Only be unhappy once.
