MB-SK | I use 2 red angus bulls and 1 simmental bull right now. I try and breed the heifers to my angus bulls as they are a touch lighter at birth weight. I like 75-80 lb calves for heifers and 90-95 lb calves on the cows. Also remember that the cow also contributes to BW. It's not all the bulls fault if the calf is big.
I've got a few cows that it just doesn't matter which bull I use, the calves are going to be 110+. As long as they are alive. A small live one is better than a big dead one. | |
