Anamoose, ND
Thanks for the info...Phil I attended your meeting in Minot, ND last winter. Your book is a great source of info, it is hard to find such a manual for any kind of crop production.

The soil where I have my winter wheat is a sandy loam, lighter soil for our area. I have grown 40 bushel spring wheat on this piece of ground when we have good growing conditions. As far as a yield goal I am shooting for 50 bushels per acre, maybe better if we get moisture. My plan was to apply 180 lbs of urea this spring with a spinner spreader when the winter wheat greens up but I absolutely hate the accuracy of using a spreader. I am thinking that based on your book, the 180 lbs of urea will be too much N at one time and it will result in excess tillers. I think it would be best to apply 28% in two passes if I need more that 30lbs of N. If I only need 30lbs I will apply all of it in one pass. Phil can you set me up with the right Stream Bars?
