| Looking at 2007 production, Iowa has the #1 corn state with 19% of US production. Adding Illinois brings the total to 37%. Adding Minnesota brings the total to 49%. Adding Nebraska brings the total to 60%. Adding Indiana brings the total to 68%. I always like to watch the weather in IA, IL, and MN to get a feel for corn production for the year. NB grows a lot of corn under irrigation so it is not so weather dependent. IA, IL, and MN produce almost half of all of the US corn. | |
