| In my experience it can be challenging to finely tune the ATU for operation on either the free signal or the subscription can be challenging. And I am using it for ripping and cultivating, so far have not been impressed enough to try with the planter when the markers work great to line up on.
RTK signal is one part of the package, one has to have a good tractor with ballasting, good traction, steering box in great shape, and an implement that is properly setup. That still doesn't totally negate field conditions that can affect steering, compaction is the unknown bear.
If you want the accuracy, and need the repeatability, don't take the cheap way on a critical part of the guidance system, the steering component.
