I tried to copy and paste the article but it's format did not lend it's self to easy transfer.
These "Papers" tend to be more of a thumb nail sketch, but I have found I can write them and they will supply some really good background and specific information.

This one on Cotton and potash fertility needs fits other information I have read but directed more toward your climate and soils.
