I have run the 1780 for nearly 10 years. the 2" wavy on dry stalks with dry gournd will literally disk the ground. You know the conditions are right when you open the window and the crashing of the stalks is quite noisy. And remember, just want to cover the soybeans and search for moisture.
Did add residue managers with depth bands to the corn rows. Works great.
