1 I recommend building it high, 2 feet or more higher than the surrounding ground. Buildings seem to sink over time......... 2 I would not use ashphalt for fill. There has been a local court case here where old ashphalt has contaminated groundwater on a farm where it was used for fill. Stick with gravel or concrete. 3 Make sure you build it far enough away from everything else. If you ever want to unfold a 30-40 foot cultivator near the door, with a packer behind, and then still get around it with something else you need room, and it is a lot of work to move things later.
