I have used just what you are asking about using a portable tank about the size of two five gallon pails stacked up, maybe not even that big. With 120 psi I can empty a 50 ft 3inch hose about 3 times before it needed air again. You must have a valve upstream of where your air line comes into the water line as the pressure will go to the easiest route and that is usually into your nurse tank. I first close that valve then open the air line valve and pick up the hose just behind the air bubble and follw it up to the tank being filled then close those valves. then go back and shut off the air line then back to the connection and disconnect and crack the valve open to relieve the air pressure then put hose away and go.
