The only time I ever seen alfalfa grown here in Nevada with out irragation was when we went throu a drought and didnt have enought water in our system to water it. I hope we never see those years again. Any of the older stands did manage to grow enough to cut once in the summer but for the most part it wasnt worth it. I really dont think you could get a crop up and growing here without some supplemtal water. (we only get less then 5in year for most parts of Nevada). It would have rain at just the right time to ever get it to come up from seed IMO.
