Subject: Cletus's Question: Monsanto BYE

Cletus that is a great question!! And even more puzzling since in the 3I's the irrigated and non-irrigated practices are equal rates. I just received the FOAI of Monsanto's BYE submission. The rating section is totally redacted so there is no information there.

BTW the FOIA is available to the public. To get your own Monsanto BYE submission complete a FOIA request from this website: http://www.rma.usda.gov/web/foia.html

Cletus, you are correct that weather is the largest cause of loss. On the humorous side I was doing some data quality reviews and found: hurricane losses on North Dakota wheat, Medfly as the cause of loss on OK grain sorghum replant and others.

If you want to research further the Cause of Loss Data is located at: http://www.rma.usda.gov/data/cause.html

Enjoy
