In our soil the smell and a little gas coming out are typical. Not sure how much we lose. Maybe something we should look at, but have done it that way for decades here. As many will tell you remeber that AA is very dangerous and can quickly put you in a life or death situation. Always know the wind direction! Googles and gloves!
