Subject: RE: Wheat in Killed Alfalfa

Luxemburg, Wisconsin
I am just saying what WI recs from the state. In winter annuals planted into alfalfa burned down, figure 25-50% of a typical N credit because when wheat is needing N for tillering, N from manure and legumes is not all available. What I seen work the best is about crediting roughly 45# of N for your crop, rather than 90#

23 to 45# from Alfalfa
33# from MAP
30# From 28%

85 to 108# N on winter wheat. That is probably overapplied at least for what we are reccommending (70-90# only).

Good Luck!!
