Subject: Re: Wheat in Killed Alfalfa

SE Nebraska
Hay in Wilson will probably be the expert on this but I seem to recall a post earlier on New Ag talk, can't seem to find it now, that said a good stand of alfalfa will release a total of 400# of N over a 4 yr period. 100# per year. I routinely plant wheat after alfalfa as part of my rotation. I topdress with P&K but have never added any extra N. Always seem to raise my best wheat behind alfalfa.
Hope this helps
