I've still had good luck with Raptor, but no program is perfect. I've found that tank mixing a foliar feed and leafhopper/weevil insecticide with Raptor and/or Select works well to help the alfalfa get ahead of any escaped weeds. It will show less herbicide stress as well as exhibit less nutrient deficiencies as a seedling in my opinion. Several growers in our area on sandier soils have used Eptam pre-emergence as well. I know nothing about it.
