My squeeze doesn't go well in the snow if it isn't chained but it weighs more (just shy of 31,000).
The load cells are very accurate but I am not sure they could handle the constant hammering they would get going down the highway. I have a 10k S beam load cell on each chain. The problem I had was finding a load cell reader that would total up all the blocks for the net. I tried and tried to get my Compuload reader to work with the load cells but that just didn't work out so I ended up with another reader that isn't as handy to use and is bigger but it will total and is made specifically for load cells. Hardly ever are you off more than a couple hundred on a truck load.
One thing I didn't think that would happen with the S beam load cells is that the cold will make them weigh a bit different than warm temps. They weigh a little lighter when cold, the metal must not stretch quite as much.
