We use dried hardwood for heavy use trailers. Most important thing we have found is to use Super Deck when the floor is dry. Doesn't make the surface slick and lasts longer than Thompson's Water Seal. We used to use green hardwood but it makes a pain when trying to keep tie down chains above the deck. That's when I figured out the 2 most important thing, cut decking 6 to 8 inches wide instead of X wide, narrow decking won't shrink as much as wider.
