| We have 2 Suburbans. One is a 2wd '96 that we bought new for my wife's catering business & the other is a 4wd 2004 that also was bought new. Both will avg over 18 mpg in hwy driving and around 15 local. Had a '99 Tahoe & a 2000 Tahoe prior to thr '04 burnb & mileage wasn't much different for them than the burbs.
If someone has one that won't avg 18mpg on the hwy maybe they should look into having it tuned up or learn how to drive a little easier.
That old '96 has hauled over a million dollars worth of food in it's day & runs as good as the day it was new.
