We only run one hose to the outside knife. Tee the extra in a foot or so after the manifold. Don't need any special knife this way. Also we pull a drawdar applicator. Did not think I would like it until we tried it, much more of a steady pull and front end doesn't get so light on ends. If you haven't tried one, be open minded until you do. Hope this helps.
