| When we sidedress we use a 15knife bar on 16rows. We run 1 hose to each knife, then we take the 16th hose & tee it & run a line to the outside knives, hopefully this gives us a 1.5 rate to the outside knifes. Back when we were running a 12 row planter we would split 1 hose & run a hose to each outside knife giving us a 1/2 rate on the outside rows & would then double back in the bulkrow to give us a full rate.
WE have also tried using the vapor hose to give us the extra 1/2 rate on a 15 knife but was not satisfied that we were getting enough product to the outside rows.
JB, what size tractor do you use on the 3pt 15knife. We looked into buying a 15 knife 3pt last year for sidedressing but our AA dealer said our 8310mfd was not big enought to handle the weight & didn't recomend it. Last few years we have been pulling a pull type 15 knife with the tractor sidedressing butIMO you knock too much corn down by the time everything turns around on the endrows.
