Subject: RE: RTK costs?

Go for the Trimble, only happy Greenstar owner clients I have are the one's who have never used any other RTK products. Consistently get feedback that for accurate steering the 2cm Trimble and AutoGuide/Beeline products leave the Greenstar for dead, particularly for repeatability. There is a reason that John Deere invented the "nudge" feature, these other products have an "implement offset" feature for inter row cultivating, not to compensate for way point drift. For about the same money the Trimble will be "colour blind" about what machine it is steering, the JD ATU steering solution for other brands of machinery is even worse than the Greenstar integrated 2cm product, only delivering users around 15cm to 20 cm on the ground and incapable of real control at higher speeds. As one guy in Central QLD put it to me last week, "It's just an Easy Guide but you are paying twice as much because its green and the brochure says its RTK". Just some observations from Australia.
