Excellent point about the Insight not doing headlands. Another major problem is the Insight was developed to be used by smaller farmers who do not run more than one planter or combine. The reasons I say this is there is no way to get planting regions out of one Insight and into another. That defeats the purpose of having the region in the harvest monitor when a different monitor may be used in the fall. Or no way to import multiple a-b lines at one time. You can export all in one step, but must manually import individual lines. That is a royal pain. Other problems is the inability to independently assign a steering swath width different than your equipment width. Example of this problem-30 foot head running lesser quality gps-needing to enter smaller steering width to 'handle' poor gps quality and steering 'wandering' and needing to enter 29' to allow for the poor quality. Another example-running 2 different heads side by side when they aren't the same size. Say a 30 foot head and a 35 foot head. Need to have a 65 foot steering swath. The Trimble unit allows you to enter the steering width independent of the equipment size. The Insight does not.
However, if you are a single unit operation, the Insight will do a great job of being both the planter monitor and yield monitor and sprayer monitor. Very versatile unit with outstanding phone support. And yes it does a nice job of autosteering concurrently with other operations without the cost or cab clutter of another unit. Just seems odd that as farmers continue getting larger and larger that AgLeader is ignoring the needs of larger farmers by programming their units to only be used efficiently and effectively by single unit operators.
