Dr. Russ Schnepper is really an authority on raising Holstein calves. 'Here' the usual program is a shelled corn/pellet program from start to finish. With corn hovering in the $4.50-5 range it is pretty hard to make that program work right now in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with raising Holstein calves it's just this might not be the 'right time' to do it.
