NEWTON, IL (SE IL.)
I know this is kind of a loaded question, but how much were you intending to invest now? That might determine what way to start out. Remember, what you buy today, will become outdated fairly quick. Doesn't mean it won't work, will just be better available for the same or less money.

I know that doesn't help your question much, but at any rate if you are wanting to spend less than $1000, you can get started with an Outback S-Lite, but won't be able to upgrade much. Or for the same $1000, you can get a refurb Outback-S that can run auto-steer, but not accurate enough for a planter. Or for $5300 you can get an Outback S2 and auto-steer package.

The Raven's are very adaptable, but cost more.

Hope that info is helpful
