Alton, Ia | Hadn't really thought about the county commisioner. Our similar unit would probably be the county board of supervisors. I would bet 99% of the people would just run the hose down the ditch and be done with it before the supervisors next meeting. You don't need permission to drive down the road, so I guess I'm not sure if they need to be involved. Iowa law is similar to Minn for the roadway. Except for State highways, you buy the land to the center of the road. We are fortunate though to have diligent county road crews who make sure to keep the ditch maintained to the ROW.  | |
