Subject: Remember the black beans of yesteryear?

Southern Illinois
I was unloading a load of Non GMO's tonight and noticed a few black beans in the mix. When I was a kid it was a normal sight to see the old gravity wagons have lots of these. Its a rare sight today. What makes the beans black? I guess genetics weeded them out of the new seed stock.
