Buckwheat - 10/28/2007 17:39  When they have a load of fert or fuel already in storage ready for sale and the price goes up day to day, which is what is happening up here, that is indeed price gouging, no two ways about it. Oh yeah, they use the term "replacement cost", how come I never heard that when prices were going down??

So if you are so sure the price will go up, you should be prebuying all the fert you can now.

If we buy all our fert this fall, we offer a fall price for it, if you wait till spring to buy and the price goes up $50 a ton thats your problem not mine, we did our job.

If prices goes down, we either keep the product or we sell at below our cost.   we got caught couple years ago on propane.

Local Gas station owner will not get premium gas in(92). says he will have a load in the tank for 2 months and not sell it fast enough.  THe price will swing too fast and he loses money on it.  Pisses me off but can't blame him for running his business for a profit!
