I believe that it has to be that cold to send it into dormancy. I think that if got down to 30 or so a few nights that you would see very undesirable leaf loss. I just got through mowing my alfalfa today and getting ready to bale. Why not mow it now? You have got to be getting pretty close to a frost as far north as you are. I believe you are about 150 miles north of myself. Good luck. Darren
