No drawbacks except the wheat you will rundown. I'm using tramlines for the first time this year to prevent that problem. In fact, you will get better coverage and subsequently a better job if you use a ground rig but timing and application must be done right. All of this is mute though if your wheat has bydv so be dilligent in scouting for and spraying for aphids.
