Ethridge, TN
I think that the last report I happen to catch, said it's now getting bad enough around Atlanta, that they will be "out" of water come the first of the year if they do not start getting significant rainfall amounts.

we are debating as to whether we want to start planting wheat, or wait for some rain. There is absolutely nothing left in the subsoil at this point. even if we did get it sprouted, unless we keep getting rain, there is a good chance it could die out. Noticed Thursday that it's starting to look like we won't need a frost to kill the volunteer corn, as it's now starting to die from no water. I've been thru some what we thought were tough droughts when I was up north. This puts new meaning to the scenario, as there is nothing left for a long ways down. Even with good rains thru the winter, it'll take timely rain events next year to produce a good crop. This is going to take significant time to bring the subsoil back.
