I don't grow much milo, but I've done this. Works well. Speeds up harvest and takes a lot of the sticky sap out of the stalk. Also very good for killing the johnsongrass we always have in milo fields. Roundup kills the rhizome better in the fall.
Have also used Gramoxone with good results, but the grass control isn't nearly as good.
