Subject: Re: Wheat Acres???

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
There were a lot of acres planted to wheat around here last fall. Then a lot of corn. There will be some wheat planted after corn and what few beans were planted but otherwise there are not a lot of acres available to plant to wheat. There may be some continous wheat but with the good wheat crop we had there is too much stubble to no-till back into wheat and little stubble gets worked up anymore.
My thinking is the ground availble to produce a good crop....summerfallow, is quite a bit less than a year ago and the wheat after corn most likely will not produce enough bushels to make up the shortfall in total bushels.
