Slicker than a Yes album.
Well, we used to be all Pioneer, but the fact their stalk strength went down the tubes, and that it was ALWAYS 5-8 points wetter at harvest, finally convinced the bosses to never plant anything over 102 day corn. We have the drying capacity, but picking 25% corn on Halloween just doesn't add up with $1.25 propane. Today's 80 was 20% avg and ran about 145 for the whole field.

Yes, it does appear odd to run a heavy-ass combine and be all tracks otherwise, but when it's wet here and the wheel tracks run through the same ruts over and over, the tracks sure help mitigate that. Anyone who has run a 1050 Kinze knows that seasick feeling when you turn the corner or traverse a hill with a full load. I don't see or feel that effect with the track undercarriage.

Also, we weren't inspired by a barber pole on the tip-ups. Crary made the corners out of rubber, seems to be holding up. Finally someone made a tip-up kit for the Deere topper. Kinda dumb to take the factory one off when this is all it needed. Now we can cut through 1/2 mile rounds in one pass.
