Subject: RE: rice lying flat

Brinkley, Arkansas
I cut 200 acres of Cocodrie for a neighbor that went 162 bpa dry. On my own farm I've had 80ac of Francis go 182 dry, 65 ac of Coco @ 169, cut 110 ac of XL723 @ 184, another 100 of 723 on cut dirt @ 160, and I'm a little over half way with a 175 ac field of Coco that looks to be in the 170 range. All of these are off scale tickets at Riceland foods with shrinkage deducted. This was our first year to raise any hybrid rice and I was not overly impressed with the 723. It yielded good but not enough to offset the seed cost. I haven't gotten any milling back yet.
