Subject: Hey John G, I took the tour tonight

Urbandale Ia, (but originally from SE IA)
Went 34 from Burlington to Monmouth then took 164 back to Oquawka & Gladstone. Did not see much damage until I got East of the 34/94/116 intersection by Union H.S. Saw hardly any down corn at all along 164, so the storm must have stayed south along 34??
I noticed that some fields/varieties had a lot broken off like you said about 18-24" up. just lots of stubs sticking up, some with ears attached. I thought to myself then, and agree with you, those fileds may present more of a problem at harvest than the ones steam-rolled flat.
It sure was not a pretty sight, been through it before myself, & my heart goes out to those who will have to deal with it.....wait a minute, last time I said something like that, I was in the same boat a few weeks later!?!?!?
