NW Washington | Wheat after wheat once would probably not be too much of a problem, especially since you baled off the straw. Burn down any volunteer wheat or grasses two weeks before seeding the new crop. Add a little more N fertilizer than normal and watch out for grassy weeds. Disease pressure will probably limit your yields some. I also believe seeding later is better than early when recropping wheat. The longer you do continuous wheat the worse the grassy weed and disease problems become. | |
