Subject: Hay Alfalfa to Seed Alfalfa (pics)

Hanford, CA
Friend of a friend called me Monday saying that he has a field of hay that he let go when he sold off his water earlier in the year when water prices were really high and now the field has seed on it. Asked if I was interested in the seed. Field never had bees on it, so was apprehensive, but is of a variety that is in short supply and proprietary owner of the variety needs seed of this variety (even though it is not certified). Well, the field is loaded...not sure how much is on it, but looks like it is loaded. I am meeting with a owner this morning to buy the crop from him, going to put a lygus spray on tonight, dessicate the end of next week and harvest in about 3 weeks from today. This could be the quickest, easiest, and most profitable thing I've done this year.
